Ate dinner at the "chef's bar" on July 10, 2010. Had the Israeli couscous. It was the best meal I had all year. Really enjoyed chatting with the chef and watching him in action. Fabulous! A delightful surprise. Thank You!

We were visiting friends up at Seneca Lake and had dinner there last night. We don't have enough superlatives to describe how fantastic the food was. Superb! Hint: Get the gazpacho and the hanger steak (but that's just what I had). If we had only had room for dessert...

I had an amazing dinner at Hazelnut last night. My partner's hanger steak had to have been one of the most deliciously seasoned and grilled steaks I have ever tasted. Succulent. I had no idea that cut of meat could be that good. \n\nMy spicy shrimp sauteed in harissa was equally satisfying. I am a huge fan of spice and I was pleasantly surprised at the heat! As soon as the dish hit the sautee pan, the lovely smell of garlic hitting hot oil caught my attention. We had requested the seats at the counter with a view into the kitchen and could see and smell everything. My shrimp was plump and perfectly cooked. It was sauteed with garlic and basil served over fluffy couscous, but the peas were the addition to the dish I found most interesting. They were so fresh and crunchy; a perfect contrast to the spicy shrimp and harissa.\n\nA piece of the flourless torte to share along with a glass of soft, complex red wine topped off the meal perfectly. \n\nExcellent job, Jonah!

Hazelnut is one of the best spots for dinner. Mike was our server this evening, and was one of the best servers we've ever had. The food selection was fantastic! Our all time favorite appetizer is the cheese plate, it's always got a great selection of cheeses. Also, if you're just in the mood for desserts, this is a great spot. We go here often and continue to do so! Being a part of the food industry myself I've found that I'm extra critical; but I've always been impressed here.

We discovered you through the Edible Finger Lakes magazine and decided to check you last summer, we fell in love with the food, the service, the setting and the restaurant, we have made the 2+ hour trip three times now and plan on many more! \nJust read Rebecca Barry's article in Food and Wine, I can't wait for our next visit.

Thank you all. I loved spending time in your restaurant, the food was mind blowing especially the onion soup, the service was also impeccable and the atmosphere was exceptionally welcoming. I only wish I lived in New York so I could visit the Hazelnut more often. \n

Each time we return for a meal I think I must write a note of thanks on the website - and then forget to do it. Tonight's meal was, as usual, worth comment. The soup/salad beginning was both special and scrumptious. As we get older we need less food and when we ordered an entree "to split" it arrived, beautifully arranged on two plates. The simple pork chop was transformed into a remarkable entree, served atop a fragrant and delicious ginger sweet potato mash and finished off with fresh bacon infused greens. We feel fortunate to live in the village and to have this wonderful bistro just around the corner.

Thank you, thank you for being open on Mondays. My husband and I have eaten at your restaurant three times and have a friend here briefly from out of town. We have only one opportunity to take her out and were so happy to find that you are open! We've had superb meals each time we've come and, as former industry people, appreciate the care you take. We're trying not talk it up to her, but I think our excitement is showing through. The short trip to Trumansburg is perfect timing for our anticipation and to savor on the way home. Yum yum yum.

Your restaurant has been our favorite date place since we first went in November, 2007. This past week, we brought our kids (4 & 7) for the first time, having heard that the kids' menu was great. The kids LOVED their meal. We love that your kids' menu has healthy options and good variety, with good pricing. Now your restaurant is our favorite date place and special family place! Thanks so much for a wonderful dining experience. Scott, Amy, Elizabeth & Xander Dawson

Hi Folks:\n\nMy wife and I found ourselves on this side of the lake around dinner time on this past Sunday, and suddenly remembered that we had been planning to visit for quite some time. I'm glad we did. The food and the service were both outstanding. We will be back for sure. Hmmm, maybe every night...

We were part of an eleven person party for New Years Eve dinner. Each course was absolutely wonderful and the service, especially for a large party was very efficient. It was a great dining experience. Thank you for establishing your nice restaurant in our village.\n\nRon & Gayle Mac Lean

If ever a restaurant was worth a 6-hour drive, it's name is Hazelnut Kitchen. Wish we lived closer...

Hands-down the best place to eat in the Ithaca area. The first bite of every meal makes you close your eyes so you can focus on the delightful sensations coming from your tastebuds. In addition, the atmosphere is just wonderful, as are the people.
- Casey, Oct 13th, 2007
I love the Hazelnut! The food is always fresh & fabulous, the menu is eclectic without being pretentious, and the service is warm and welcoming. Thank you for coming to our little town! Best Wishes, Veronica.

I'm a vegetarian and found plenty amazing food to choose from on your menu. I can't wait to come back and try more! Nut Kitchen is hands-down one of the very best restaurants in the area, if not the very best.
